Rock Painting Simple craft with the kids

Crafting with any age child can sometimes be met with a tiny little bit of ‘oh but the mess’, even for the most creative of parents. Sometimes it seems like it can take more time to tidy up afterwards than they spend creating their masterpiece. I’m all for letting children explore, create and get messy but sometimes when time is a bit limited (and I’m exhausted mummy) something simple and quick to clear up is just what’s needed. Recently we have been trying to take advantage of the lovely weather and be creative outdoors and rock painting is great for this. Ideally Acrylic paint is a good choice because the paint is…

Chandlers Cottage Settle- Self Catering with kids

Choosing self catering accommodation when traveling with children has some important things to consider. Chandlers in Settle, Yorkshire Dales is a quaint little Cottage with a lot to offer. Although small it doesn’t at all feel cramped and easily housed four adults, toddler and baby with room to spare. The first plus was how light and airy the Cottage was with lovely contemporary furnishings Downstairs  Downstairs there is one lounge and the kitchen which might seem limited for a family however the downstairs is quite spacious. The double doors between the kitchen and lounge can be opened allowing free flow between the two rooms. This works really well allowing children…

Ice Lolly Moulds for making your own fresh fruit ice lollies

The weather is finally getting better and we are forging onward with all things summer! This year instead of spending a small fortune on ice lollies we decided to make some ourselves. We used the iNeibo Kitchen Ice Lolly Moulds.Made from silicone and BPA free they come in a set of 10 bright colours. These were impressive as there  are no ice lollies slowly melting off sticks and dripping all over the place. The lolly is nicely contained in the moulds and the added bonus that if your little ones decide they don’t want any more of the lolly after a few licks, you can put the lid back on and…

    Cosmetics Ideal for Little Hands

We are all familiar with the stage when our little ones want to do everything ‘all by themselves’ and the resulting frustration if they need even a little help. Often our homes are not ideally suited to small children, either things are too high for them to reach, too heavy or too big for their little hands. We aim to enable independence as much as possible, finding products that allow children to help themselves. Learning to care for themselves is an important milestone for children however small little caps on bubble baths, shampoos or shower gels can be a little fiddly for little ones. Little hands can also find it…

    Cannon Hall Farm

There are so many farms offering family days out however Cannon Hall Farm really is something special. Firstly the way the barns are laid out makes life so easy with children. There are no stairs to negotiate despite the barns being on a hill which means accessibility for all. The animals are viewed from balconies above the barn so everyone regardless of height can easily see what’s happening and children will enjoy sending animal feed down tubes into the troughs bellow.  Around 900 lambs are born at the farm during lambing season and 2-3 litters of piglets are born every week so there are always plenty of little animals to see…
